Manufacturing and production software for Kenya
For factories, bakeries, workshops and processors that turn materials into products: plan production, issue work orders, use up raw materials, check quality and know what each unit really cost.
From raw materials to finished goods
- Bills of materials: what goes into each product, in the units you buy them in
- Production planning against the materials you have in stock
- Work orders that take materials out of stock and put finished goods in
- Quality control: inspections and rejected quantities recorded on each order
- Production costing: materials, labour and overheads per unit
Know what goes into production, what comes out, and what it costs
Raw materials are bought with purchase orders and can be held for inspection when they arrive. A work order for a batch uses the bill of materials: completing it takes the materials out of stock and adds the finished goods, with the batch number for traceability.
Quality checks during and after production record rejects and defects, and failed stock stays on hold until someone decides what happens to it. Material, labour and overhead give the real cost of each batch, the finished goods are sold through the same system, and the books and margins update as it happens.
The rest of the company in the same system
- Raw materials and finished goods in separate warehouses, with transfers between them
- Suppliers, purchase orders and goods received
- Customer orders, invoices and accounts for the goods you sell
- Accounting, payroll and approvals from the ERP, and a factory shop with the point of sale if you want one
Plans
Manufacturing companies use the ERP plans: ERP Starter KES 4,999, ERP Business KES 9,999 (several warehouses and branches) and ERP Enterprise KES 19,999 a month. Every new company gets a month free.
Questions
Is there production software for small factories in Kenya?
Yes. BlueDuka's manufacturing workspace covers bills of materials, work orders, quality control and production costing, with stock, purchases and the books in the same system.
Can it work out the cost of each product I make?
Yes. Each work order adds up the materials it used at their buying cost, plus the labour and overheads you set on the bill of materials, and shows the cost per unit.
Does it work for a bakery?
Yes. A recipe becomes a bill of materials: flour, sugar and oil in kilograms or litres, and each batch baked is a work order that uses them up and adds the loaves to stock.
