Free POS software in Kenya: what is really free
Every new BlueDuka account gets every feature free for a month, with no card. After that you can stay on the Free plan or choose a paid plan, paid monthly by M-Pesa. Your records are never deleted.
The one-month free trial
For a month you can use everything: M-Pesa that confirms itself, staff, branches, the online shop, reports and the Windows app. No card and no M-Pesa payment are needed to start.
The Free plan, after the trial
- The owner alone, one branch and one computer
- Up to 5 products and 10 sales in total
- Up to 10 customers owing at a time
- Enough to try BlueDuka properly; a shop selling every day needs a paid plan
When you are ready to pay
- Starter, KES 799 a month: owner and 5 staff, 1,000 products, 3,000 sales a month, the online shop link and loyalty points
- Business, KES 1,999 a month: 3 branches, M-Pesa that confirms itself, till shifts, returns and approvals, accounting books
- Premium, KES 4,999 a month: 10 branches, unlimited products and sales, transfers and the API
- Paid monthly by M-Pesa; change or stop any time

Is BlueDuka really free?
The one-month trial with every feature is free, and the Free plan has no time limit but is small: the owner alone, 5 products and 10 sales in total. Most shops choose Starter (KES 799 a month) or Business (KES 1,999) after the trial.
Do I need a card to start?
No. Create an account with your email and start. Plans are paid monthly by M-Pesa.
What happens to my records if I stop paying?
They are kept. The account moves to the Free plan's limits, and everything comes back when you choose a plan again.
